Well after a rough day yesterday, I woke up this morning feeling like I’d turned the corner.
This cold is finally on it’s way out and I actually feel a little more human again!
So, I decided to make the most of the day and do absolutely nothing except put my feet up and watch films.
It’s seems to have worked so far and as my house is being taken over by Dharma and her friends from tomorrow lunchtime for Dharma’s birthday, I thought I had better make the most of having the living room to myself before being banished to the bedroom.
I’ve been in a bit of Zac Efron mood the last couple of days after catching Charlie St Cloud, so I decided to catch a couple of his other movies on Amazon Prime that I hadn’t seen before.
The first one was ‘That Awkward Moment’
Not the best film ever made but I must admit it had a scene that made me laugh like I haven’t laughed in a long time.
It involved viagra and the need to pee horizontally!!
Long story, you have to see it to appreciate it.
Needless to say if you Google ‘Zac Efron peeing horizontally’ you’ll get the idea!!
Posting the image here will just need too much explaining!!!
The second one was ‘The Lucky One’
This was a much better film.
Zac plays a marine who travels to Louisiana after serving three tours in Iraq to search for the unknown woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war.
Basically he finds a photo of her after a raid one morning and as he goes to pick it up a missile strikes where he had been sitting.
He tries to find the owner of the photo with no luck so he carries it and he continues to survive in situations he really shouldn’t.
He makes it his mission to find ‘his guardian angel’ when he gets home to thank her but ends up falling in love with her!!
There’s more to the story but that’s the gist of it.
It’s a lovely film and I think I will be adding it to my DVD collection ASAP.
Right, another movie before bed or do I take a look at the new Netflix exclusive Sense8 that was released today?
I don’t know why I do it.
Every now and again when I’m scrolling through things to watch I come across a beautiful film called ‘The Death and Life of Charlie St Cloud’ and I just have to watch it.
I know full well WHY I watched it the first time around.
Zac Efron is in it!!
I just didn’t expect it to be quite as good or emotional as it is.
It gets me every time.
It doesn’t matter, this film ALWAYS has me blubbing by the end of it!
If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
Just make sure you have a big box of tissues handy!!!
Murron had a very bad day today.
It started off bad, she managed to get through her first exam and then proceeded to have quite a major panic attack.
She was sent home.
Looks like we will be looking at exam leave for the rest of her school life to try an minimise the attacks and hopefully get her through the exams.
Anyway, I actually had a good laugh with her after she’d calmed down when she got home and we decided to go to the cinema this evening.
We went to see Bad Neighbours.
It was actually funnier than I expected it to be but it was also a lot naughtier than I expected it to be!!
Have I really got to the point where I can take my daughter to see a film with a little sex, more than a few dildos and half naked Zac Efron’s running around?
When did she stop being my little girl in pigtails?
Don’t think I would have been quite so comfortable if we’d taken Ian along with us.
We did have a good girly laugh.
…… it has just struck me like a ton of bricks that I am old enough to be Zac Efron’s Mother!!
I want to cry!!

Apparently, Universal Pictures have nabbed a movie release date of November 4th, 2016, for a feature they have currently only called ‘Untitled Event Project’.
For a movie that is only two years away, it is unusual that the film would not yet have a title, but the “event” distinction seems key.
The ever cool Legendary Pictures are reportedly involved and this is fuelling speculation.
One of the speculations is that the movie is going to be Namor, another Marvel based Superhero
He is the super strong and headstrong leader of Atlantis and can walk among mortals and take to skies in flight.
The release date comes around the same time that Zac Efron has been rumoured to be up for a Marvel film.
Given that Namor is frequently half-naked, much like Zac Efron, it makes sense to make that association.
He would also be a good choice to carry off the arrogance and malevolence of the character.
MMMmmm…. I can get on board with this!!
It has been suggested that there’s some inside baseball at play here as well.
Warner Bros. have been at the centre of some rumours of their own with their similarly water based hero ‘Aquaman’
Aquaman is a possible addition to the ‘in development’ Justice League which is believed to be scheduled for 2017.
So if Universal pips them to the post with Namor in 2016, it’s going to be a serious kick in the teeth to Warner Bros who just don’t seem to be able to get their act together when it comes to superheroes.
