THE RIGHT DECISION

The past week has trudged along as normal.

I had a little health scare when I developed a tremble in my left arm that left me feeling quite jittery for a few days.
I went to have my blood pressure checked and ended up being placed onto a 24 hour monitor.
Luckily that showed I actually have a pretty healthy blood pressure and averaged 115/75 during my waking hours and just 98/60 when I was sleeping.

I spent all day Friday tackling some hot flushes and I had more than one person say that I could be pre-menopausal!!
I think they may be right.
That’s just what I need. I still feel like a teenager in my head but for the last few years my body has been failing me and this is a nail in the coffin of my youth.
Not that I’m going to let it get me down.
I plan to be the most embarassing but cool Grandparent in history!
My kids are scared.

Holly updated ‘Under the Ruins of a Walled City’ and left me wanting to give Ren the biggest hug imaginable followed by the biggest slap telling him to ‘snap out of it!! Hux needs him!!’
Anyway, I’m going to go back to ‘Life Sentence, No Cellmate’and start from the beginning again as Holly has gone on a short break so there will be a small delay before she updates again.
I have to do something otherwise the wait will kill me!

Anyway, the biggest decision of the week was made today.
My brother is getting married in Tuscany next August and I was hoping to get me and Ian and all 3 of the kids out there for a short break.
However, with Ian’s change of position at work this year and some unexpected expences due to car breakdowns etc, we weighed things up and decided that it was wishful thinking.
None of us even has a passport so that’s nearly £500 before we’ve even started.

So, I will be going on my own but tagging along with Mum and Dad.
It’s a bonus for me as Mum and Dad are going out a week earlier so I will actually get a longer stay in Italy and will be more likely to get to places like Florence and Pisa and possibly Rome.

The downside is that Ian will be left with the kids for a week and a half!!
None of them know what tidy up after themselves means!!

Right, time to snuggle up for the evening and tackle some fiction before work tomorrow.
Three 12.5 hour shifts in 4 days…. at least I have a nice long weekend to look forward to!

HEART BROKEN

I finally got to read chapter 15 of ‘Under the Ruins of a Walled City’ last night and it did not disappoint!!
OMG, how bittersweet the all too brief and longed for physical connection was for Ren and Hux.
10 more chapters of actual torture are surely to follow.
Will Ren get his connection back to the force?
Will Hux ever get out of that prison……alive?
Will they ever get the life they’ve dreamed for themselves?

Best not to think about it. I’ve got at least another week and a half to wait for chapter 16!!

At least I can concentrate today.

TORTURE!!!

Today is going to be torture.

I went to bed early last night and fell asleep before ‘Under the Ruins of a Walled City’ was updated.

I made the mistake of taking a peek at it with my coffee before work this morning… BIG MISTAKE!!!

Resisting the urge to read it at work during breaks is going to be absolute torture.

No….. I’ve decided I am going to wait until I get home tonight to finish it in one go.
I don’t think that breaking down and crying would do me any good at work and trying to explain just WHY I’m  crying could be problematic at best!!

It’s going to be a long day……

AFTERNOON SORTED

Chores done.
Time to relax and recharge batteries for the next two days at work.

Treated myself to a couple of movies today.
It’s going to be a pretty tough going getting through these this afternoon.
Lots of doom and gloom.

The Revenant
Saw it at the cinema and was very impressed. My husband didn’t like it though so I can’t see him wanting to curl up on the sofa and watch it.

Revenant

Good film made even better by the fact that Domhnall Gleeson is in it!!

Revenant 2

And Macbeth.
I haven’t seen this one yet and it’s one Shakespeare play that I’ve never actually seen or read!!
Michael Fassbender is Macbeth so how I could I not give it a go!!

Macbeth

This is all leading to an update on ‘Under the Ruins of a Walled City’ that has been promised for this evening.

So not only will my heart get a pounding during the movies this afternoon, it will probably get well and truly stamped on this evening!!

Can’t wait.

EXHAUSTED BUT RELAXED

I’ve been doing nothing but relaxing today.
It’s been a Long week. Most of it on my feet that my knee complained about through much of yesterday as it threatened to collapse underneath me and caused my shin and foot to cramp quite regularly. It didn’t hurt though!! so that’s an improvement.

Anyway, even though I was shattered I still couldn’t sleep in much past 8am.
As I stood in the kitchen making my morning cuppa I looked at the garden which is really starting to look more like a jungle as the grass and the weeds take over, interspersed with some lovely flowers that have decided to come back this year, it occurred to me that I really should get some gardening done.
BUT…
I also need to recouperate and rest the knee.
So I pushed that idea to the back of my head and settled down to watch the new episode of Outlander which is still holding faithfully to the books and looking sumptuous and sexy.

I followed that with yet another viewing of Star Wars: TFA!!
I know, I know, I AM OBSESSED. I just can’t help myself.

This afternoon I have been messing around on the PC.
The usual stuff, Tumblr, FB, Spotify, Youtube.

All the time, at the back of my mind is the knowledge that ‘Under the Ruins of a Walled City’ will be getting an update either tonight or tomorrow afternoon.
I am champing at the bit to find out what is in store now for Hux and Kylo.

Right, time to pick another movie.
Decisions, decisions.

OVERDONE IT A BIT!

And this is why I have blogged very little this week.

12.5 hour shift on my feet on Saturday.
All day on my feet at MCM Comic Con on Sunday.
12.5 hour shift on my feet on Monday.
A bit of housework and a relatively quiet day on Tuesday.
12.5 hour shift on my feet on Wednesday.
A relaxing day where I stupidly felt the need for a power walk on Thursday.
12.5 hour shift on my feet today.

and I have another 12.5 hours to do tomorrow!!
My poor knee doesn’t know what’s hit it.
Think I’m running on adrenalin right about now.

Sunday is definately going to be a movie day.
I’m also hoping that Holly updates ‘Under the Ruins of a Walled City’ so I can have a good Kylux fix!

At least I came home from work to find this on my Tumblr Dash!

So happy with himself!! yt-1300f
