This will be one of my last warnings for spoilers. If you haven’t seen Rise of Skywalker yet, don’t go any further.

So, Chris Terrio, who wrote the screenplay for The Rise of Skywalker, recently stated in an interview that…..
‘Adam Driver sprinkled various Harrison Ford elements throughout his own performance in the film, from the way he points in the face of General Hux, to the way he fires a blaster over his shoulder without looking, and finally, the little open-handed shrug he gives the Knights of Ren before their last battle.’
Let’s break that down…..
Han’s open handed shrugBen’s open handed shrugHan’s over the shoulder blaster shotBen’s over the shoulder blaster shotHan’s finger pointing a Leia
Kylo’s finger pointing at Hux
Adam Driver added all these little nods to Harrison Ford and, in doing so, has made ‘Kylux’ Canon.
So, this is where my brain is at in the mornings at the moment. Pondering over a cup of milky coffee I have images and ideas popping into my head. All backed up with people on social media having similar ideas or fuelling new ones.
Since the release of the beautiful Vanity Fair official images for Star Wars Ep IX, I am now, even more convinced that the guy being slammed into the deck by Kylo in the first trailer……..
Is actually one of these guys……
One of his own Knights of Ren!
I am all kinds of giddy trying to figure out exactly what would make Kylo turn against his own Knights OR have his Knights turned against HIM!?
And then there was this image.
Specifically a very stern looking General Hux and Allegiant General Pryde. That incredibly sexy Allegiant General uniform, filled out quite nicely by Richard E. Grant, and now that his character has a name, Tumblr has gone crazy! Fan fiction is already being written that is definitely NSFW and taking the opportunity to create stories before we find out exactly who, exactly, this character is, or what he’s going to be like. I just keep thinking about Richard’s perfect English accent and it gives me goose bumps! I cannot wait to see him brought to life in the film.
From my own perspective and particular interest in the Kylux (Kylo and Hux) fandom, General Pryde has put a bit of a spanner in the Kylo and Hux relationship! It’s all rather interesting and more than a little bit naughty!
Right, suppose I had better stop drooling and go and do some work.
OK, so this blog is going to be a little boring, I am quite literally sat in bed trying out my new notepad. Familiarising myself with how it all works and this small keypad!
I will be taking this thing to Italy in the hope that I will be able to blog virtually daily and keep a diary of events and photos in real time.
I’m not great, I much prefer my PC with a full keyboard and a mouse. In fact, I’m cheating as I have got a wireless USB mouse attached to this as I can’t stand the stupid little touch pad.
Anyway, I had some good news today. It would appear that I have actually passed my maths exam!
I really am surprised by my result as I really didn’t feel at all confident when I came out of the exam itself.
Combined with the result from my first essay, it would appear that I am running at an overall A- for the course so far. I’m beginning to realise I need to have a little more confidence in myself.
I found something I want for Xmas today,
look at this little beauty,
Kylo’s new limo, the Tie Silencer. I can’t wait to see him piloting this in the Last Jedi.
So, that’s it for tonight. Going to do some channel hopping in the hope of finding something good to watch.
Countdown has well and truly started for ‘The Last Jedi’ in December.
Today, Disney revealed a sizzle real from the filming.
Bedsides a very quick glimpse of General Hux looking very sleek with his mullet, Kylo is looking incredibly hot!!
Daisy rehearing to fight who? The Knights of Ren maybe?
Adam rehearsing to fight who? His own Knights maybe? Actually I don’t really care. He just looks really hot!!
John Boyega in an Imperial uniform!
This is what I love about a build up to a movie like this.
We just don’t know anything. It’s all hearsay and rumour.
Just so long as Adam keeps looking pretty, I’ll keep eating it all up until I see it!
It will come as no surprise to anyone that I am a HUGE Star Wars fan.
The Force Awakens was a breath of life into a fandom that has never truly died.
Since 1977 Star Wars has been a part of me. Han Solo was always my hero. Princess Leia was my heroine who showed me that I didn’t actually need a man to stand up for myself.
The fandom may have gone quiet for a few years and the prequels (although not bad) didn’t quite hit the mark but Christmas 2015 was the turning point.
Fandom got a slap in the face, was told to wake up and smell the roses. Star Wars was back and is set to be an even bigger part of our lives for the foreseable future.
We all had an Awakening. For me, in more ways than one.
With the Force Awakens came an obsession that has only gone from strength to strength over the last year and a half.
Kylo Ren…… or more precisely….. Adam Driver.
The more I found out about him, the more I watched him in things, the more I fell in love with him.
He’s amazing. There simply is no other word for him.
Such a humble and giving man and I continue to love him from the ears that are fighting for dominance on his head right down to his big feet!
The reason for this post is to apologise in advance for the spewing forth of everything Adam related over the next few months.
This past weekend saw the release of the teaser trailer for The Last Jedi that is due this December.
We finally got a glimpse of what Kylo’s scar is going to look like.
The Kylo snippets from the teaser were so tantalisingly quick it was frustrating.
So it’s now official, It’s out of the starting gate and all the hype leading up to the actual movie has officially started. There will be one, if not two more full trailers coming over the next few months followed by the press tours which mean a lot of new photos and interviews to enjoy!!
However……
Adam also has another film due around the end of August.
Logan Lucky with Daniel Craig. In which, two brothers played by Adam Driver and Channing Tatum, attempt to pull off a heist during a NASCAR race in North Carolina.
Adam Driver, Channing Tatum, Daniel Craig, Sebastian Stan and even Domhnall Gleeson’s little brother Brian Gleeson… all in one movie.
I’m hoping a trailer will be dropping for this one very soon!!
Along with interviews and press tour and photos.
So my apologies (although I’m not actually sorry) are for not shutting up about Adam for the foreseable future.
I will be posting interview snippets and every photo I can lay my hands on alongside trailers and film clips.
BRING…. IT…. ON!!!
And just so I can hopefully convert some of you to the god that is Adam, I also want to leave this here for you to look at.
This…..
This is what makes adam so special.
Forget Star Wars.
This is Adam’s first love. His charity, Arts in the Armed Forces.
His short lived experience as a Marine was their loss but our gain!!
I’ve been feeling like I needed a break over the last few weeks.
Then I realised I haven’t got any annual leave planned until the middle of August.
As I start Uni on the 24th I thought that next week would be a good time and work have been good enought to let me have some last minute annual leave.
It’s off to a good start.
Yesterday we FINALLY got our first look at The Last Jedi when the teaser trailer and the poster were released at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando.
OMG!! The scar…the smashed helmet…the anger in Kylo’s eyes.
The poster is also stunning.
Clever use of the Jedi symbol but ominously changing from blue to red!! and the awe struck look on Kylo’s face that we saw at the end of TFA but deliberately keeping the full scar hidden for a film reveal. This will soon be a new feature in one of our frames in the living room.
So, now that’s out of my system I can relax and enjoy a family wedding that I will be leaving for in about 20 minutes.
Tomorrow I will be chillaxing and cooking a beef roast dinner for the first time in I can’t remember how long.
Then the rest of the week will be gutting the house from top to bottom and tackling the gardens for the first time this year. I need to get them under control now before I start Uni. I doubt I’ll have much time after that.
Sleep, work, bills, appointments.
Most of the time it’s pretty monotonous and normal and for want of a better word… boring!!
But…..
I like to escape occasionally and that’s where movies step in followed by fandoms and obsessions.
For the most part, the hubby feels the same way.
We would never have met without Fandoms and obsessions.
We pretty much have the same taste in movies with few exceptions.
Every week in films, fandoms and fiction brings something new and this week I was given a particularly exciting thing to obsess about and it had an immediate knock on effect.
Recently I have become part of a fandom my husband does not share and cannot understand and I totally understand why.
It just makes my personal hobby a little lonely as, apart from my ‘online’ friends’, I have no-one to share this hobby with.
My husband has been reading fan-fiction for years and I used to laugh at him for it but then something happened last Xmas that changed my perspective.
Disney delivered a film fanboys had been dreaming of for years.
When Star Wars The Force Awakens hit our screens I was a little dubious because of the vain attempt at the prequels.
I was soon well and truly back into Star Wars fandom.
Where George Lucas misjudged what fans wanted…. Disney delivered…. and then some!!
Then around April/May I got fed up with the hubby telling me I really should try some fan-fiction. So I did a little digging.
I was blessed.
The first piece I had ever read in my entire life was called ‘Devour’ by ‘Solohux’ on a site called AO3.
It was Star Wars Force Awakens fan-fiction BUT with a little twist.
The wonderful thing about fan-fic is that existing places and characters and stories can be taken in totally different directions.
Questions can be asked like what if that event hadn’t happened? How would the story have diverted from what we know?
What if characters ended up in different relationships?
What if we dropped the characters we know into completely different universes?
What if?
Well, I found myself neck deep in what is affectionately known as ‘The Kylux Trash Compactor’.
Stories relating to the relationship between Kylo Ren and General Hux.
Now, given that General Hux only had about 3 or 4 minutes of screen time in the movie, the seemingly ‘seething’ hate and animosity he feels for Kylo Ren has been snatched by fandom and taken to the nth degree.
I cannot get enough.
Love/hate, hate/hate, slow burn to full on relationship, alternate universes, force sensitive Hux, Alpha/Omega, dom and sub – either way.
I have been completely anamoured by the Kylo/Hux relationship to the point where I actually started to write my own fan-fiction, encouraged by Solohux who is now one of the aforementioned ‘online’ friends on a site called Tumblr.
Then this week, something came across my dashboard on Tumblr that completely took my breath away.
This is absolutely stunning and I was completely mezmerised by it. I don’t think I have ever seen anything so sensual in my entire life.
Shortly after seeing this my mind started to wander and I had a thought.
I wanted Kylo belly dancing for Hux.
So I took a look on AO3 for any existing fiction and I found some!!
They were fun to read but they all had Kylo as a slave or working as a belly dancer and I had envisioned something a little different.
So I sat down one morning and wrote my own ficlet. I couldn’t stop!
2000 words later I had it and I absolutely love it!!
I can’t believe I’m actually going to do this but for any friends or family that may be interested in my writing, here is a link to my fic on AO3.
Please please please remember that this is based on a male/male relationship and if you are not open to that then please don’t read.
It’s safe, there’s no physical intimacy in this fic but the relationship is well established and physicality is heavily implied.
It’s called ‘The Gift’ Click HERE to follow the link.
If you read it, I would love to know what you think.
I have really enjoyed writing in the last few months and I’m seriously thinking about writing something original. Coming away from fandom and writing something of my own.
The only issue is coming up with an idea.
At least with fandom you have a baseline to start from!
Right, time to chillax and binge watch some ‘Queer as Folk’
Ian at work.
Murron at work.
Marjorie gone for induction day at college.
Dharma at school.
Mum has already been and gone.
I HAVE THE HOUSE TO MYSELF!!!!!
I literally cannot remember the last time that happened.
LET’S PARTY!!!!
Music on as loud as I want while doing some cleaning.
I can even watch a naughty film without worrying about kids walking in!
What I’ll probably end up doing is continue writing a fiction I’m part way through.
It’s a little bit angsty and emotional at the moment and I have absolutely no idea where it’s going or how it’s going to end.
But hey! It’s fun writing it.
Here’s a taster from chapter one…..
Kylo himself looked like he’d been to hell and back but he was used to this kind of treatment from his Master. He’d learnt to protect himself from Snoke’s onslaughts long ago but they still took an awful toll on him both physically and mentally. Snoke was not averse to snapping the odd bone to make a point and this time it had been a few ribs.
Kylo was beginning to feel something he had never felt before. Hatred. A deep enmity directed solely at Snoke. This kind of treatment he was used to personally. He’d been told time and time again it would make him stronger but Hux wasn’t force sensitive. To treat Hux this way was beyond barbaric and had almost killed the one good thing in Kylo’s life.
Dun dun dun!!!!
Yeah, I like to put my boys through the wringer.
So, right on the middle of 6 days off and today has been a good day. Expensive but good.
The diet is still going well and I have now added a good 30 – 40 minute power march into the mix that I will continue to do on every day off.
I am now about 14 pounds lighter!! My willpower has taken a bit of a boost.
Anyway, today we took a trip to Milton Keynes. I needed to get something to wear to my cousin’s wedding in two weeks and I found a lovely top and handbag.
But then I spoilt myself with a trip to Build a Bear.
Kylo Bear now has friends!!
I also popped into HMV looking for a couple of movies.
I found one, but the other one still eludes me.
Holding the Man is one of my current favourite films. It’s based on a true story and is funny, but ultimately heartbreaking!!
After MK we popped into Ikea to get another Glass display case for Ian’s Star Wars Armada ships and a small Billy book case for my ever expanding Bluray/DVD collection that now officially stands at 1360!!
That’s it!! No more spending. We have to start paying these cards off!!
