A LITTLE BIT ANNOYED!

Having a look through the BBC news site, I came across an article about films being shown at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
I came across the following……

“The French festival – billed as ‘The Olympics of cinema’ will open with a screening of Jim Jarmusch’s zombie comedy The Dead Don’t Die, which contains a star-studded cast including Bill Murray, Iggy Pop and Selena Gomez, as well as Tilda Swinton and Tom Waits”.

NOT A SINGLE MENTION OF ADAM WHO IS ONE OF THE TOP BILLED STARS NEXT ONLY TO BILL MURRAY!!

SERIOUSLY?!!!

THE DEAD DON’T DIE

Two and a half years after starring in Paterson…….

a film about a poetry writing bus driver called Paterson from Paterson, New Jersey and directed by Jim Jarmusch, Adam Driver is once again being directed by Jim in zombie movie ‘The Dead Don’t Die’.

Anyone who knows me, knows I’m not a huge zombie fan.
That said, I enjoyed ‘Zombieland’ and funny enough, ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ also stars one of the cast from that very film. Bill Murray.

“The peaceful town of Centerville finds itself battling a zombie horde as the dead start rising from their graves”.
Doesn’t sound like anything special……. except it’s directed by Jim Jarmusch and stars Adam and Bill.

Of course, I will be going to see this film. Adam is in it! Why wouldn’t I, and just look at the other cast listed in it.

And with Jim’s quirky way of filming, I am in no doubt that this film will be well worth the watch.

The film will be premiering at, and actually opening the Cannes Film Festival this May, and Adam has been confirmed as attending the festival yet again. He has a bit of a history at the festival with ‘Paterson’ in 2016 being nominated for the Palme d’Or and ‘BlackKklansman’ in 2018 winning the Grand Prize of the Jury and also getting a nomination for Palme d’Or.

CANNES 2018

Next month sees the 71st Cannes Film Festival in France and I’m excited to say that my main man, Adam Driver, has not just one, but TWO films being premiered there.
One in Competition and one closing the festival.

The one in competition is Black Klansman directed by Spike Lee.
It tells the true story of Ron Stallworth who was an African-American police officer from Colorado, who actually managed to infiltrate a local Ku Klux Klan and became the head of the local chapter! His story was revealed in a 2006 tell all book of the same name.
That’s as much as I know about it so far. I have no idea what part Adam will be playing.
I’m hoping he will be Ron’s white colleague who went to the meetings in Ron’s place as it wouldn’t feel right if Adam was playing an actual ‘hate filled’ moron.

Anyway, the second film is ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’ directed by Terry Gilliam.
I’ve blogged about this one already and I’ve been waiting a LONG time for it to arrive.

It gets released in France on the same day but there is still no release date for the UK!!

With 2 films at Cannes, I’m hoping that Adam will be in attendance. It makes sense. The timing is just right. It leaves him a couple of months to promote both of these films and have a bit of ‘down’ time before he starts to film ‘Star Wars Episode 9’ in July.

His last attendance at Cannes gave us some beautiful photos.

I need more!! Roll on May.

DISAPPOINTED

So it was not to be for ‘Paterson’ at Cannes.

Can’t deny I’m a little disappointed.

Oh well, at least it gave us a ton of new Adam images.

He will hopefully have another chance next year with ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’!!

EXHAUSTED JUST THINKING ABOUT IT!!

Travelling.
The thought of it is exhausting.
Not the places you get to experience but the actual travelling from A to B.

I can’t imagine how exhausting it must be to be working at each stop.

Adam Driver is on a bit of a whirlwind trip at the moment and I’m exhausted for him just thinking about it.

He flew into Belfast for filming on Star Wars VIII on the 13th but has apparently been given a break in filming to travel to Cannes to promote ‘Paterson’ that gets shown in competition today.

Presumably he will be heading back to Belfast to continue his schedule on Star Wars VIII.
I can’t imagine that being there for just two days initially was all that was needed!

Looks like he may be on his own too.
No sign of Joanne in any of the photos but as she’s probably got her own filming schedule to tackle back home it’s not that surprising.

Anyway, he’s looking relaxed and happy.
Just look at this perfect cupcake!!
