BACK TO TODAY…

It’s been a rotten week.

We have had a bit of a do with the eldest daughter.
I’m not going to go into details, it wouldn’t be fair.
Needless to say, I’m holding my hands up in defeat.
I’ve given all the advice I can and she refuses to listen to it.
The molly coddling is over.
She’s nearly 20 years old. She’s on her own.

I had my eyes tested. Only a year over due and as suspected, my prescription has changed and “WHAM” bang goes another £250 on new glasses.
I did go back later in the week for a contacts consultation and I’ll be picking up my trial contacts next week. The thought of not having to wear glasses every day is quite appealing. The downside is that if I go ahead with them, it will be another £30 a month on top of everything else.

The hubby has been away all week on a training course and I really ‘missed’ him.
I didn’t realise just how much I’d come to rely on a cuddle to get to sleep!!

Anyway, we will be heading off to MK in a little while to spend the day seeing a couple of movies and have some dinner somewhere, probably Wagamama’s.
Believe it or not, the Husband wants to see La La Land….. I’m not so sure. I’m not a big fan of modern musicals.
I want to see Assassin’s Creed!
Going to be a mixed bag then.

MY ADVENT CALENDAR – DAY 4

Day 4 – Altair, Ezio and Connor

One of the stranger Dish of the Weeks as this one was based on some sumptuous artwork.
Artwork for ‘Assassin’s Creed’

Amazing and dreamy artwork.
I am sooo looking forward to the movie that is currently filming.
I just hope they are taking inspiration from all that beautiful artwork!!

DISH OF THE WEEK # 57 – MICHAEL FASSBENDER

Oh dear!!
It looks like I’m developing a bit of a crush on Michael Fassbender!

I’ve only seen him in his 2 X-Men movies, Prometheus and Eden Lake but that has been enough to peek my attention.
After seeing him goof around with Hugh Jackman and James McAvoy promoting X-Men Days of Future Past, I have really warmed to him.
That accent and that shark of a smile are incredible!!

It only seems right that he officially becomes my Dish of the Week number 57.

Fassbender 02

Killer smile

Fassbender 01

There is no denying I have a soft spot for the younger Magneto.

Fassbender 03

Prometheus was intriguing but I’m not sure about the blonde.

Fassbender 06

Eden Lake started off beautifully…..

Fassbender 04

But ended rather badly!!

Fassbender 05

These three are a real hoot together.

Fassbender 07

I am holding my breath for the release of Assassins Creed that seem to have been in pre production for…. forever!!
See my posts from Jan 2013 and Feb 2014

Michael Fassbender is still the only name listed in the cast.
I really hope this film gets off the ground.
I can’t imagine a better story to bring to the big screen.
If it’s done right it could be amazing.

ASSASSIN’S CREED, GETTING THERE SLOWLY!

Back on 31st January 2013 I posted my Dish of the Week number 40

https://mumofthreedevils.wordpress.com/2013/01/31/dish-of-the-week-40-altair-ezio-and-connor/

In that post I talked about my interest in three game characters from Assassins Creed and the possibility of a film.
I knew that a screenplay had been written  but I didn’t know about a release date and speculated about summer this year.
I also knew that IMDB had listed Michael Fassbender as rumoured to be playing one of the characters called Altair.

I was a little unsure about Michael Fassbender in that role and I speculated that he would possibly be better in the role of Desmond whom the whole game revolves around in the first place.
Altair, Ezio and Connor are simply Desmond’s ancestors and each have there own part to play in the whole story.

Well, I have noticed that recently, that particular post has been picking up quite a few views so I wondered what had changed.
I’ve just taken a look at IMDB and I have discovered that we now have a firm date set for release of August 7th 2015
So I was a year out with my release prediction.
However, Michael Fassbender is now listed as playing Desmond!
So I got that one spot on!

They still haven’t announced any more cast members and I’m getting a little excited now.
I really want to know who they are getting to play Altair, Ezio and Connor.

Are they going to be following the games and doing it as a trilogy and therefore….
Film one and Altair with the Knights Templar and the Third Crusade.
Film two with Ezio during the Renaissance.
Film Three with Connor and the American Frontier in the mid 17oo’s

or are they going to be combining the three games and creating one amazing story arc in one film?

If they go for the three movie option, Michael Fassbender will have to sign up for all three because his character is pivotal to the whole thing.

I just hope the casting of Altair, Ezio and Connor comes up to my high hopes and I really hope the costume designers do a good job and really look at the amazing designs for the characters from the games.
There is the potential for some really sexy imagery.

Assassins creed 02

I’d also like to be able to gush about these characters as real people and not game characters!! Which is just a little bit weird!

UPDATE

Just goes to show I’m not a gamer!!
Apparantly there is the potential for 6 films, not just 3.
Looking into the gaming side of things the games go as follows…
Assassin’s Creed 1
Assassin’s Creed 2
Assassin’s Creed – Brotherhood
Assassin’s Creed – Revelations
Assassin’s Creed 3
Assassin’s Creed 4 – Black Flag

If you have the time, take a look at this Youtube video which shows the cinematic trailers for all 6 games.
It will give you a really good feel about how rich these films could be.

I think I am correct in saying that AC 1, 2 and 3 are a complete story arc in their own right.
It is these three that I’m assuming will be either one film or a trilogy.
Brotherhood, Revelations and Black Flag are all prequels, sequels and fill ins for those three games.
I’m sure that at some point an actual gamer will correct my mistakes.

DISH OF THE WEEK #40 – Altair, Ezio and Connor

There are rumblings.
Rumblings of a film that ‘could’ potentially be very exciting if they get it right.

For a little while now I have had a small interest in some game characters.
Altair, Ezio and Connor.
Yep, These dishes aren’t even real people!!

Assassins creed 01

Assassins Creed.
A game I have never played.
A game I have no intention of playing. I’m not a gamer.
A story that I could die for in a movie with some very sexy imagery, characters and lots of action.

Assassins creed 02

Assassins creed 03
I believe this character is Connor. Could be my favourite!

Assassins creed 04
Of course he’s contending with Altair.
I hope they choose their actors very carefully.

This is not the first game I’ve been interested in as a movie.
Back in 2010 we had ‘Prince of Persia’
Subsequently my Dish of the Week number 2 was Jake Gyllenhaal who played Dastan.
Jake 1

According to IMDB, Assassins Creed has been ‘announced’ and there is a screenplay.
From the short description on IMDB it looks like they are going with the first game.
The first games play is as follows……..

The Assassin’s Creed game take place in 2012, featuring Desmond Miles, a bartender who is a descendant of several lines of prominent Assassins; though raised as an Assassin, he fled his nomadic family to seek out a more common lifestyle. He is initially kidnapped by the megacorporation Abstergo Industries, the modern-day face of the Knights Templar who are aware of Desmond’s lineage. Desmond is forced to use the “Animus”, a device that allows him to experience his ancestral memories. Abstergo is seeking to discover the location of several artifacts, or “Pieces of Eden”, that hold great power, to control mankind and alter its fate, bringing humanity into a single unified group. Desmond also encounters a small team of modern-day Assassins; agreeing to work with them, Desmond uses their version of the Animus (the Animus 2.0) to continue to experience the memories of his ancestors to discover the locations of additional Pieces of Eden so they can be recovered before Abstergo can do so. While experiencing these memories, some of their abilities are genetically leaked into Desmond, known as the Bleeding Effect, giving him some of the Assassin skills of his predecessors at the cost of living with multiple sets of memories and personalities in his mind.

Within the Animus, Desmond explores the memories of Assassins Altair ibn-La’Ahad, an initially disgraced Assassin working to redeem himself during the Third Crusade, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, an Assassin in Italy during the late 15th and early 16th centuries of the Renaissance and of Ratohnhake:ton, otherwise known as Connor, a half- Mohawk, half British Assassin during the American Revolution. Throughout these events, Desmond learns of allusions to the prophetic end of the world in 2012 from a former Animus test subject, Subject 16, as well as from holographic figures of a species pre-dating humanity. Many years ago a massive solar flare nearly wiped out all life and a second threatens to do the same. With the second solar flare fast approaching, it is up to Desmond to use the memories of his ancestors to acquire their knowledge, learn the truth and find the Pieces of Eden to save humanity.

If this is what they are going with it is potentially going to be an incredible movie!!
So far they have cast one person – Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender

He is listed as playing ‘Altair’ but I’m wondering if he is actually going to be playing Desmond.
Time will tell.
The film will be in 3D… no surprise there then.
It is apparently going to start filming this year so I am assuming they want it ready for the summer market in 2014.
As soon as I know more I’ll let you know.

Of course, after all this, it could also potentially be a ‘pile of crap!’
But they would have to be incredibly stupid to balls up a story like this one.
