I’m a bit of a sucker for chick flicks.
When I went shopping today I picked up a £3 copy of ‘P.S. I Love You’
Then I sat and watched it.

I used to own a copy, but it got lent out, can’t remember who to, then it never came back!!
Don’t you just hate that?

Anyway, I love P.S. I Love You.
Makes you laugh, makes you cry.
Gerard Butler as ‘Gerry’ is just adoreable.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan as ‘William’ has the most terrible Irish accent I’ve ever heard but I can forgive him because he’s so pretty!
And Harry Connick Jr as the speak before you think ‘Daniel’ is so cute.

A beautiful story that really tugs at the heart strings.
I seriously need to invest in a box of tissues for the living room.

The Omen

The original 1976 masterpiece and not the 2006 piece of poo.
This film may be 36 years old but it still packs a punch.
The little boy playing Damien is one of the creepiest pieces of casting ever.
The gruesome special effects still look good even by todays standards.
The icing on the cake is the haunting music.
Not to forget an unexpected performance from a golden era hottie, Mr Gregory Peck.

Just watched The Medusa Touch.

It was always one of my favourites as a kid.
Starring Richard Burton as John Morlar, a novelist who is convinced he causes death and disasters simply by thinking about them.

‘I am the man with the power to create catastrophe’

Richard Burtons voice alone is enough to get you hooked on this one.
It’s looking a bit tired now.
I’d love to see what someone could do with it with todays special effects.

The shopping trip was thankfully swift and painless.
Marjorie found a lovely little black dress for her party in two weeks and we were home within an hour…. result!

So, the chicken was popped into the oven, the veggies prepared and I had time to sit and watch a movie.

Movie number 5 of the weekend.
Pride and Prejudice.
The 2005 production with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.

Beautiful, just beautiful.
Gets the heart fluttering.
It’s every girls dream romantic movie.

Matthew Macfadyen is just hypnotising as Mr Darcy. You just want to scream at him at times to stop being so stupid and tell Elizabeth how he feels.
But I suppose there would be no Pride in the title of the movie if that happened.

On another note, I still think Matthew Macfadyen would be a brilliant Dr Who.
I’ve thought that ever since I saw him in Little Dorrit.

I know I said I was staying clear of Karl Urban films today but I just couldn’t resist.
I fancied a bit of action and a bit of comedy so what better than Red.
This film is hilarious and proof that action is not just for the youngsters.
Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Morgan Freeman had way to much fun making this.
When Karl Urban is thrown into the mix as a CIA agent sent to kill Bruce Willis then it is literally perfection.

Can’t wait for Red 2 in August….. even though Karl isn’t in it! Poo!

Roman Holiday.

The original chick flick!
I love this movie.
Audrey Hepburn never fails to take my breath away and Gregory Peck is…. well he is just scrummy!

It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen this, I still find myself rooting for a different ending.
In a way it’s quite sad.
I suppose that’s one of the reasons I can watch it again and again.

OK….. next!!

Top Gun!

Nice simple one to start the day.
Love the flight sequences. Really exciting.
Worth watching if only for the testosterone filled volleyball game!

Dharma was not impressed when Goose died.
Anthony Edwards is one of her favourite actors because he played Dr Mark Green in ER.

I’m intrigued to see how successful the 3D conversion will be.
Not a fan of 3D conversions.

Anyway, time to choose film number 2.

Right, healthy breakfast, Viennese Whirls and a milky coffee!! YUM!

Time to kick it up a gear today.
By the time we go to bed tonight this house has to be ready to move.
Ian is picking up the van at about 7am tomorrow.
We sign and get keys at 09:30 and then it’s all hands on deck.
We aim to sleep at the new house tomorrow night.

I fell asleep on the sofa ‘again’ last night.
Not good. Ian will think I’ve left him.
Better not get his hopes up too much!!

OH yes, we watched ‘Dark Shadows’ with Johnny Depp last night.
What a yawn fest!
We were thoroughly disappointed with it.
I don’t think I even cracked a smile and all I could think was ‘The trailer was funnier than the film’
So bad it’s not going to get a dedicated review on my blog.
I love Johnny Depp. I think he’s a great ‘character’ actor but he really gets some duffers.
I’m more than a little dubious about his new character ‘Tonto’
We’ll just have to wait and see about that one although there are loads of films coming out this year that I want to see before I even think about ‘The Lone Ranger’

Speaking of which……
Star Trek 2 is in 134 days, 9 hours
and Dredd is out on BluRay in just 11 days!!!
I’m not excited at all really!! Whoo hoo!!
