It’s been a bit of a mixed week.
The garden has been coming along nicely.
I got the new troughs planted and dug out some old pots to freshen up with new shrubs.
I’ve tried to get shrubs that will give all year round greenery but give plenty of flower colour in the summer to try and attract the bees and butterflies.
Popped some new lights up and now we just need some good weather to be able to enjoy it.
Had my old friend Mick round for another catch up on Weds. It’s nice to get back to our weekly chats, even if it is in the garden for now. The patio area is quite sheltered and with the early morning sun, it gets quite warm.
It’s just not good for the diet. With the bakers just over the road, amazing fresh doughnuts and giant iced finger buns have become a bit of a tradition!!
Work hasn’t been too bad recently.
We are now seeing the return of our elective surgeries and the ward hasn’t been crazy busy.
However, this week I was supposed to work Tues, Thurs and Fri.
Tues went without a hitch and my day off on Weds was nice and chillaxing, however, when I woke up on Thurs I had developed a streaming cold!
My nose felt like someone had turned a tap on and I was sneezing all day which made my eyes watery and puffy.
Work was not great that day. The ward itself was OK, I just felt like poo and I looked like it too. Continuously having to blow my nose made it very sore and I looked like Rudolph the Reindeer. I was actually quite thankful for the mask!!
However, sneezing into that mask was not pretty!
I ended up leaving the ward a couple of hours early and had to say that I wouldn’t be in on Friday.
Explain to me just HOW…. you can spend all day at work in a mask, go nowhere on your day off and STILL catch a cold?
Thursday wasn’t a total loss though as my daughter had her 20 week scan to confirm that the pregnancy was progressing well and that the baby was looking healthy. She also found out that she is expecting a boy!
I know that she and Jordan were hoping for a girl because Jordan already has two little boys, but they are both happy and now they can really start to plan things.
They have said that this will be the only baby in their relationship…… but…… I think the thought of adding a little girl into the mix might persuade them to have another go at some point. We’ll see.
So, to today.
The nose has just about stopped running. It’s not looking as red as it did on Thurs but it’s now so dry and crispy around the edges it’s going to start peeling!! Lovely!
I’m going out to the pub for the first time in Months tomorrow evening and I’m going to look ravishing…. NOT!
Anyway, the BIG news for the day is that in just under 2 hours time, I will be getting my hair cut!!
HALLELLUJAH!
I’ve been desperate for a cut for at least the last 6 weeks!
It’s longer at the end of this lockdown than it was the first one!
Urgh! Please excuse the miserable face. My eyes are still really puffy and I’m just feeling blurgh…….. and old TBH!
Hopefully a haircut and a bit of sun will change that.
Anyway, let’s get to the end of this blog.
What haven’t I mentioned yet?…………. Oh yes, Adam!
Photos have continued to stream out of Italy as Adam and Lady Gaga continue to film for ‘House of Gucci’
It’s been a busy week and the scene that every Adam Driver fan has been dreading was filmed this week too.
The assassination of Maurizio Gucci was filmed and appeared to be quite a tough day for Adam. He is very much a method actor and likes to get into character and stay in character while on set.
Anyway, here are a selection of photos from this week and quite frankly, some of them should be illegal because Adam looks AMAZING!
Right! The sun is shining. I have a few chores to do and I need to shake off the last of this cold.
Have a fabulous weekend whatever you’re doing.
