I may have spent a lot of time in the last week playing on the computer and watching movies during my annual leave, but I did actually manage to get one thing done that I had planned to get done during my time off.
My back garden!!
As I posted a few days ago, my garden had been severely neglected over the last year as we concentrated on a huge sort out in the house and garage and apart from a HUGE hack back of shrubs when we had a skip last year, the garden didn’t get any attention at all.
I wanted to make up for it this year.
As we will be, fingers crossed, out of lockdown restrictions by the end of June, I wanted to make sure I had a garden that I could enjoy when my friends are allowed back around again.
I have 3 weeks off at the end of July and into August and I didn’t want to be wasting my time gardening!!
So, at the beginning of the week my garden looked like this…..
And now it looks like this……
There are a few shrubs that I’m hoping will ‘take’ and fill out a few areas, and when the buddleia starts to flower again, the butterflies will come back.
I need to work on the grass a little. There’s more weed and moss than grass but at least it’s green!
The borders are now covered with weed suppressant matting and bark so I’m hoping it won’t be such a slog to keep tidy next year!!
The only thing left to do now is wait for my new garden furniture to fill out this patio space.
