I must apologise for my last blog about Golden Globe winners and BAFTA nominations.

It was a complete mess and so rushed.
It was late and I was tired and was just trying to get the important information down.

Now that I read back through it, I can see that ‘maybe’ I should have waited until I had more time to play with it and give more of my own reviews.

Anyway, the deed is done and I’ve learnt a lesson. It was sloppy!

I can’t do anything about it now except try and keep catching all the potential Oscar nominations so that I can give an honest prediction or hope of winners and then a final review of the actual outcome.

The only problem with that is that I will have started back at Uni by then and probably fully ensconced in my first Essay! At level 5 I’m assuming the word count will be going up too.
It was hard enough writing a fully referenced 2500 word essay at level 4. If level 5 goes up to 3 or 4000 words I don’t think I will be seeing the light of day for the next year and any real blogs about anything else will be few and far between.

Anyway, if the Golden Globe Winners and BAFTA nominations have shown me anything, it’s that, as much as I love ‘Call Me By Your Name’ and want it to win everything it’s been nominated for, it’s actually up against some stiff competition.

If my last few blogs are anything to go by, I think it’s pretty obvious that this film has weazled it’s way into my life in a pretty big way.
It’s just ticking all my boxes at the moment.

It is beautifully shot.
It is set in Northern Italy.
It is a HUGE reminder of my stay in Italy last summer.
It captures the era (1983) perfectly.
It tells an achingly heartbreaking love story.
It will leave you in tears.
Armie Hammer plays Oliver. What’s not to love!!
Timothee Chalamet plays Elio. A rising star who is destined to go a long way.
Both of them beautiful.

I can safely say I will gush about this film whenever possible.
