DETERMINED TO STICK IT OUT!

So, both me and the hubby decided to try a 7 day, detox/fat burning diet to get our diets back on track.
One of Ian’s colleagues gave it to him. He likes to do triathlons and this is a diet used by elite athletes after they’ve had a short break from training to help them lose excess fat quickly while they train. An elite athlete with rigourous training can lose 10 – 17 pounds in a week!!

Obviously we are not stupid enough to think we can lose that much but if we increase our exercise and stick to the diet we should see and feel some benefit by the end of the week.

I made a HUGE pot of vegetable soup to a specific recipe and it was actually quite tasty so the diet started in earnest yesterday.

Each day should contain at least 2 litres of fluid. That can include black coffee and tea, water and fruit juice (not squash), skimmed milk and definately no carbonated drinks or alcohol!

Day 1 of the diet states that you can only consume the soup (as much as you want) and fruit (except bananas) and your 2 litres of fluid.

I will admit that yesterday I felt extremely tired but I think this was more to do with the fact that I had killed myself hacking my garden back over the previous two days and all my worrying over current Uni projects and my brain not switching off at night so I can’t sleep properly. I think it all caught up to me yesterday, I was a zombie at work!

Anyway, today I am actually feeling much better. I have noticed that this diet is making me ‘get rid of’ quite a lot… to put it politely!! I seem to have to go to the loo a lot more often.

Day 2, today. I can eat as much of the soup as I like and acompany it with vegetables and I can have a large plain baked potato for tea!! Whoo hoo!

I’m actually feeling quite energised today.
I have decided to stop worrying about Uni work and give it a break for a few days. I managed to sleep quite well last night and had a HUGE lay in this morning.
This afternoon I am going to get my hair cut and then head off over to Toys R Us to check out what ‘Last Jedi’ toys they have. Maybe treat myself.

Day 3 of the diet states as much soup, fruit and veg as I want and my 2 litres of fluid.
I’m at work tomorrow and I’m hoping I’ll be able to do a little studying while I’m there.

I will admit that I’m missing my wine today!! but I am determined to stick it out.
