Today was a good day.
I haven’t had a day to myself for almost three weeks. If I wasn’t at work, I was at Uni or I was on a placement. My days off were spent trying to complete my first essay and if I did find myself with a day off from all of that, there were chores to do.

I had a stroke of luck this week and found myself with three days off in a row and Ian managed to take a days holiday so we have the weekend together.
Unfortunately it hasn’t been very good for my diet!!

We started by having a day out today and went to MK to watch some films.
We arrived in MK at about 10am and had breakfast at Frankie and Benny’s and then headed of to see Baywatch!!

I know, I know. Really???

Surprisingly it was actually really fun!! Cheesy, but fun.
Of course the eye candy didn’t go amiss.

Then we went straight into film number two. The Mummy.
Forget what the critics are saying, this was actually really good and my favourite of the three films we saw today. There were lots of quick references to potential future characters and Russell Crowe as Dr Jekyl worked well. I look forward to, hopefully, the next one!

Then we went to Wagamama’s for dinner and I decided to be brave and try something completely different. One chicken and prawn Yaki Soba later and I was completely stuffed. Yes, we also had chilli squid. Can’t go to Wagamama’s without getting a chilli squid. YUM YUM!!

Film number three was Wonder Woman.
What can I say about this without spoiling it?
It was good. A good set up for the next one. Plenty of action and humour. I was very happy about how strong the women were portrayed. Wonder Woman herself did not come across as overtly sexual, even with the skimpy costume. She kicked arse!!
However, it lacked a little something for me personally. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t come out thinking, WOW! I’ve got to see it again and that was disappointing.

Now we’re home and I have a HUGE glass of wine and I’m watching Riyadh’s new Youtube video and having a giggle.

I have to do a bit of housework tomorrow… BOOOOO! before some old friends come round for a visit and Sunday I plan to do absolutely NOTHING.

Right, bed with another movie I think!!
