So it turns out that one of the hardest characters to design for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was Kylo Ren.
They apparantly went through hundreds of designs before coming up with the final product.
Interestingly, the design for Captain Phasma came from an early design for Kylo Ren!
I’m glad they decided against it!
I couldn’t imagine Kylo swinging a lightsabre around in this getup!
No, I’m glad they went with the simple black.

Yeah, but the mask is still ugly, I think.
But isn’t that the point? The mask is supposed to be intimidating and let’s face it, without that mask we would never have had that lovely first reveal when he takes the mask off in front of Rey!
