As I, disappointingly, can’t find any mention of this on the BBC news site…….. I thought I’d make a mention here.
Yesterday the world lost a wonderful actor.
Robert Loggia.
You all know him.
Grumpy looking with a gruff voice.
You may not know him by name but he crops up in lots of things you’ve seen over the years.
Remember this scene from ‘Big’ with Tom Hanks?
The General in ‘Independence Day’
Richard Gere’s asshole dad in ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’
He had 229 acting credits to his name.
With countless TV and movie appearances such as…….
Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Rawhide
Route 66
Gunsmoke
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
The High Chaparral
Wonder Woman
Raid on Entebbe
The Rockford Files
Starsky and Hutch
Scarface
Prizzi’s Honour
Jagged Edge
To name just a few.
One of my recent favourites was ‘Return to Me’ where he played ‘Angelo Pardipillo’
The Italian co-owner of an Irish Italian restaurant in the middle of a wonderful little love story.
A great chick flick and one I keep going back to time and time again.
I just thought he deserved a mention instead of being brushed aside and forgotten about.
