Film Reviews

OK, so I’ve had time to think about New Year resolutions.
I’ve never been a huge fan of New Year resolutions because even if they start with all the best intentions, they usually fail because you are never really ready to take on the challenge.
Things like diets and exercise are much more effective when you’ve taken the time to plan and really think about them and then you can start them when you are ‘ready’

Anyway, I have a few resolutions in mind.
I already know I want to lose weight and get a little fitter but I’m not in the right frame of mind just yet. It will happen at some point but right now is not that time.

My blog is going to be my main focus.
As I said last year, I aim to blog at least once a day.
Last year I started great but then Summer arrived and the blogging tailed off bit by bit.
So I am going to try again, however, I must keep my blogging positive.
I will only blog about things that make me happy, things that make me smile.
I’m not saying I won’t mention other things that are happening in my life but I am not going to dwell on the negative. Life is just too short!!

I am also going to keep a record of every film I watch over the next year. Even if I watch it more than once.
Whenever I go to the cinema I will write a quick review.

So far this year I have watched 2 films.
I was made to sit and watch Gnomeo and Juliet yesterday, 1st Jan, by Marjorie.
I wasn’t especially looking to watch a film as I was planning a bit of channel hopping but she wouldn’t let me continue past Gnomeo and Juliet and I was forced to see it to the end.
I was actually pleasantly surprised. I found it quite amuzing, especially the cameo of Patrick Stewart as the voice of the Shakespeare statue!

Anyway, today as I’ve been playing on the internet, I’ve had ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ on in the background.
The one with Nicholas Cage and Jay Baruchel.
I love this film. It’s exciting, funny and different. Jay Baruchel just cracks me up and I love the homage to the Disney ‘Fantasia’ segment with the mops and the water!
This is a film I have gone back to several times in the last year. It will be interesting to see if that continues this year.

That’s it for now.
2 days, 2 films…. so far.
I’m hoping to get to the cinema tonight to see ‘The Hobbit’ but Ian is not too well at the moment.
He’s got a humongous stress headache and is feeling quite sick. He’s having a nap but at the moment it’s not looking too promising.
We’ll see.
